Michael Hedges documentary “Oracle” seeks additional producers
Michael Hedges is considered one of the most influential acoustic guitarists of our time. After he passed away in a car accident in 1997, his music influenced a whole new generation of fingerstyle guitarists, and he remains a “guitar hero” to musicians everywhere.
For the past 3 years, the award-winning production company TrimTab Media has been developing, producing and editing a feature-length documentary about Grammy award-winning guitarist and composer Michael Hedges
The filmmakers are seeking additional producers and financial backers to help them raise the next $250,000 of the budget, enabling them to complete production and a full rough cut of Oracle.
Interviews for the documentary have been completed with Michael’s close friends and family, as well as musicians Graham Nash, David Crosby, Will Ackerman, Michael Manring, Barbara Higbie and Michael Gulezian, all friends and collaborators of Hedges.
Interviews have also been completed with contemporary fingerstyle players who were influenced by Michael, including Andy McKee, Jon Gomm, Mike Dawes, Trevor Gordon Hall, Stanley Jordan, and Calum Graham.

The filmmakers are seeking additional producers and financial backers to help them raise the next $250,000 of the budget. This phase of funding will enable them to complete production and a full rough cut of Oracle.
Producer-level supporters of the project will help to shape the film’s completion by viewing work-in-progress cuts of the film and providing feedback, helping the filmmakers secure additional $10,000 – $25,000 sponsorships, bringing on additional producers to the project, and/or contributing directly to the film at the producer level ($25,000 – $100,000). Producers will be recognized in the film’s credits, website, poster, and at all screenings of the film.
Producer-level contributions are tax-deductible when made through the film’s fiscal sponsor, the International Documentary Association.
